Take It Slow at The Slow, Canggu

It's Saturday afternoon, 14:00 in Canggu, Bali.

We've just arrived at The Slow for a little "staycation." We come here often for meals at the insanely delicious restaurant on the bottom floor, sunset cocktails on the rooftop, or art openings in their modern and eclectic gallery. But this is our first time staying in this creative and cool hotel that's popped up in the beachside surf town of Canggu and it reminds me of home with it's Venice Beach meets Bali vibe...

The hotel itself is a continuation of the highly curated gallery... featuring unique artwork throughout the hallways and rooms themselves. I literally want to buy all of it and put it in my house (luckily, you can buy some of it on their website!)

Groovy music from Reverberation Radio plays aloud, enchanting the space with up-and-coming indie songs from LA and around the world. One of my favorite parts about the music is that it plays in the rooms too! There's a dial next to the bed where you can turn the volume up and down, 24 hours a day - and trust me when I say that the music is on point.

The rooms remind me of a tropical version of a modern home in Palm Springs or Venice Beach...complete with cacti, teak wood and neutral desert tones. Being that it's a boutique hotel, there are only a handful of rooms onsite, which makes for a very personal experience. You can even book one of their Pool Suites to have a private pool all to yourself - but if one of those isn't available, the location is super close to the Canggu Beach.

Tip: There's a great beach lounge with a pool called The Lawn right down the road if you're dying to take a dip.

The food is to die for. Like I mentioned above, we come here pretty often for Sunday brunch or dinner with friends, because some of my favorite dishes in Bali are the creations of the Slow.

You have to try the E3 Extraction juice (I get it every time). It's a yummy combination of starfruit, tangerine, lemongrass, passionfruit, carrot, and ginger. They also serve Bulletproof coffee for those of you who love a good caffeine kick ;). My go-to for breakfast is the pumpkin hotcakes, and at dinner time I love just about everything - from the fresh burrata to grilled octopus. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

They serve their meals in the most amazing dishes made by Cisco and the Sun which are also available to buy onsite - we fell so in love that we bought some coffee mugs for our house.

Whether you're in Canggu for a day or a week, definitely make a stop by The Slow for a meal and check out the art gallery. Maybe I'll see you there!
